I lydværket "Dissolve in Patience" undersøger Christoffer Kejlstrup - også kendt under navnene 3.11 og C.K - mødet mellem ambientmusikken og det kirkelige rum. Kunstneren er optaget af, hvordan ambientmusik i en meditativ sammenhæng, med fokus på repetition, kan være med til at undersøge spørgsmål, der drejer sig om mindfulness, refleksion og kontemplation."

Krypten under Vor Frue

I 1955 stødte man på noget enestående under gulvet i Vor Frue Kirke i forbindelse med en restaurering. Årets vigtigste arkitektoniske fund blev det dengang kaldt. Det var resterne af Aarhus’ første domkirkes krypt opført engang i de sidste årtier af 1000-tallet. I Danmark kendes lignende krypter kun fra vore ældste domkirker, og krypten under Vor Frue Kirke er da også netop et levn fra den første domkirke i Aarhus, Skt. Nicolai Kirke.

Det er dette rum, som Christoffer Kejlstrup udfordrer med sit værk. Værket er en del af det flerårige koncept "Rum der Forkynder," der på én og samme tid udforsker potentialerne i kirken som kultursted, forsøger at løfte koncertoplevelsen til et nyt niveau og sætter borgerne i direkte kontakt med de overvældende sakrale rum.

The site-specific work "Dissolve in Patience" by Christoffer Kejlstrup explores the correlation between ambient music and the church room. The artist examines how ambient music in a meditative context, with focus on repetition, can help to explore issues related to mindfulness, reflection and contemplation.

 The crypt beneath the Church of Our Lady In 1955 something unique and surprising was discovered during a restoration of the Church of Our Lady. Beneath the floor lay ‘the most important architectural discovery of the year’ – as it was put at the time. It turned out to be the remains of the crypt of Aarhus’ very first cathedral, built in the last part of 1000 A.C. Other similar crypts were only prevalent in the very oldest cathedrals in Denmark, and the crypt beneath the Church of Our Lady is, as a matter of fact, a relic from Aarhus’ first cathedral which was known as Church of Skt. Nicolai.

The site-specific work is part of the concept called “Rum der Forkynder”, which main objective is to explore the potential of the church as a place of culture, which seeks to elevate the concert experience to a new level and put citizens in direct contact with the overwhelming sacred space of the church.
